All About Mrs. Van Veldhuizen |
I would like to take this
opportunity to introduce myself and explain my goals and expectations for this
year. My name is Katelyn Van Veldhuizen
and this is my 9th year teaching kindergarten at West Covina Christian
School. I have my Master’s degree in
Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction in Multicultural
Contexts from Azusa Pacific University as well a Clear Multiple Subject
Teaching Credential. I received my
undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts and Preliminary Teaching Credential from
Pepperdine University. I reside in
Pomona with my husband, Brandon and our two daughters, Bailey who is 3 ½ years
old and Brennah who is 2 years old. I am
a member of Bethany Church where I have attended practically my whole
life. If you do not have a church home
of your own, we would love to have you join us on Sunday mornings and/or
Wednesday evenings.
God has given me a passion and a heart for children and an eagerness to help them grow and learn. I am very excited to help develop the best spiritual, academic, social and physical environment possible for your child’s growth. Every student is special and I will treat each one with love, respect and Godly discipline. My goal for this year is to provide your child with an education that will not stop at school, but will build good character traits and habits for life. In order for this to happen it is important for us to work together and support one another to provide a strong school-to-home connection. I would greatly appreciate your prayer support for me and I am looking forward to partnering with each one of you to make this year a memorable and successful one for our students!
